When Edgar the butler realizes that the cats will get Madame's fortune when she dies he kidnapes them and takes them out into the countryside. When Madame wakes up in the middle of the night and discovers the cats missing she runs screaming Duches! Kittens! They're Gone! This wakes Roquefort the Mouse up and he goes out to search for them. When Roquefort returns he goes to see Frou Frou in the barn and she asks them if he found them to which Roquefort replies that he didn't. Frou Frou also informs him that Madame didn't sleep after she found out that Duches and the kittens were gone. Then Edgar comes in and reveals to Frou Frou that he's the catnapper because he made the headlines in the newspaper. But then Edgar realizes that he lost his hat and umbrella behind and that could lead to evidence with him being the catnapper and that he needs to get those things back tonight. After Edgar leaves Frou Frou and Roquefort come with a plan that ROquefort will hop on Edgar's motorcycle and ride along with him to get his hat and Umbrella back and that will lead Roquefort to where Duches and her kittens are but when Roquefort hops on he accidently bounces off as Edgar rides away as a maniac. The next day when Duches and the kittens return home with the help of an alley cat named Thomas O'Malley Edgar traps Duches and the kittens in a box and prepares to ship them to Timbuktu but when he's about to push them outside O'Malley jumps on him and Frou Frou grabs his shirt but he manages to pull away from her but she manages to block him from pushing the box out. Then O'Malley's friends Scat Cat and his gang of Alley Cats show up and help free Duches and trap Edgar by throwing a bucket and rope on him and then Frou Frou kicks Edgar with her back feet sending him into the drunk. Then Frou Frou and the cats watch as Edgar is shiped off to Timbuktu. Abigail and Amelia are first seen swimming down the river, when they spot O' Malley attempting to get to shore by hanging on to a tree branch. They mistakenly think that he is attempting to learn to swim, despite his attempts at an explanation, and cut the branch with their beaks. When O' Malley sinks, the two geese dive and rescue him.
On shore, they meet Duchess and her kittens. Amelia and Abigail introduce themselves, explaining that they are twins from England and are touring France, with the intention of going to Paris. O' Malley is still annoyed at them, and makes a sarcastic comment, but the geese are oblivious. The geese initially think that he is Duchess's husband, and are scandalized to find that he is not, They immediately whisper between themselves about various features that suggest that O' Malley is untrustworthy. However, the geese offer to travel with the cats to Paris. They place the cats in a V shape, similar to how geese fly, with O' Malley at the rear end, and set off.
Uncle Waldo
Uncle Waldo first appears as Duchess, O' Malley, the kittens, and Abigail Gabble and Amelia Gabble are returning to Paris. As the group passes by a restaurant, Waldo comes flying out. The twins reveal the goose to be their uncle, and immediately notice that his tail feathers are gone. Waldo leads the group to a menu on display. The menu reveals the dinner special to be Prime Country Goose, basted in white wine. Waldo had apparently had the misfortune of being the intended meal before escaping the chef. Waldo notes that, being British, he would have rather been basted in sherry. O' Malley remarks that he must have been marinated rather than basted, as the goose is visibly drunk.
Waldo then begins getting very loud, so his nieces say goodbye to the cats, and begin leading him away home to bed. As they leave, O' Malley and Duchess both note that they like him, especially when he's marinated. Waldo appears again in Madame's Mansion at the end where he is still drunk and sings the song Everybody Wants to Be A Cat.
Napoleon and Lafayette
Napoleon and Lafayette are a classic double act. Napoleon is the cleverer of the two and is often aggravated by Lafayette's stupidity. He always reminds Lafayette of his superiority, although he usually takes Lafayette's advice anyway. He has very good hearing and can discover various details about something just by listening to it.
Lafayette is the stupider, dopier of the two. He usually trips over his ears and has to lift them with his paw to hear things properly. He's also annoyed by the way Napoleon always bites an intruder on the butt while all he bites are the intruder's tires on his vehicle. Lafayette sometimes speaks before he thinks. He once asked Napoleon what colour a pair of shoes were, not knowing not even Napoleon can hear colours. He also makes light of the fact that they've been outsmarted twice by Edgar, causing Napoleon to beat him on the head.
